I first met Mick and Deb shortly after they arrived in Guatemala when they came to volunteer at the
malnourished infant center I administered at the time.
Mick and I used to have monthly coffee jams to talk about our development work and ways we could further help the disadvantaged populations in Guatemala. I watched as the seeds of Mick and Debs intentions grew until they founded the Integral Heart Family, which I saw grow and thrive. Every year IH took on greater and greater roles within children and families lives.
I’ve spent my career doing development work and have known the efforts hundreds of organizations. Of them all, never have I seen an organization as successful as the Integral Heart Family in breaking the cycles of generational poverty. They offer much more then an education. Integral Heart teaches children how to live with heart and reach their highest potential. So when Mick asked me in 2015 to take on more formal role as its outreach director, the answer was a resounding yes. Mick and
Debora have hearts that truly hear the needs of impoverished Guatemalan children and families and it’s my honor and privileged to back their life-changing work. |

The Integral Heart Family has given me a deeper sense of purpose here on this earth. Since joining as a volunteer fundraiser back in 2017 I have noticed a plethora of abundance flowing in my direction because I chose to give without asking for anything in return. I am very grateful to have met
Luke Maguire Armstrong while traveling in Latin America years ago and that he introduced me to such an incredible cause led by some of the greatest people I’ve ever had the privilege to meet. |

Being a part of IHAT is a small way I’m able to give back in gratitude for all the blessings I’ve received. Knowing that sharing with my
friends and family about this wonderful organization could make a difference in a
child’s life is such a great feeling.

I work with Integral Heart because it's a
chance to
break the cycle of generational
poverty for children
who were born into
lives and circumstances than
many of us
could scarcely imagine. It's a chance
to
give back and help others give back to
world
that has blessed me beyond
measure.

In the depths of grief and darkness there spawned a glimmer of light and love. A small task force partnered together to give their time and affection to the children and families in
Guatemala to receive the fundamental essentials of education and a chance to break the cycle of poverty.
I do this to honor my beautiful daughter, Amber Lynn. Her strength, love, and empathy for everyone has guided me to be better and do better. In this ever changing world I am glad to say I am helping make a difference and all the gratitude I need is a smile on the face of a child.

During
the height of lockdown, I was lucky
enough to stumble upon Erica’s
videos and then Luke’s which led
to the Integral Heart
Foundation....this charity tugged at
my heart strings....when my husband
and I
first got married, we decided we
wanted adopt and were looking into
Guatemalan adoption because there
seemed to be so many children in
need of a family. Unfortunately,
there moratorium in place, yet we
wanted to try to help the children
of Guatemala in other ways. I was
truly inspired by the work of The
Integral Heart School. I’m
grateful and thankful to be a part
of your team in anyway!
Happily married mom to 10 yr old
twins, native New Yorker, BA in
anthropology/archaeology and RDMS
(registered diagnostic medical
sonographer, high risk ob/gyn 15+
years). |

I first came to Guatemala in 2002 to learn Spanish. I was taken aback at the level of generational poverty and malnutrition I encountered. I have been going back to Guatemala routinely since then, and in 2012 I met Mick and Deb and became involved in Integral Heart Foundation. I served as a volunteer and teacher while I was there for almost 2 years, and have been an active donor and supporter since then. I hope to get back there next year to assist when things start to get back to normal.

My
heart is full. I’m so honoured to
stand beside you beautiful humans!!!
This is the greatest gift in a
space that feels so authentic to me.
Thank
you for welcoming us in to
yours!
We now reside a stones throw from
Toronto, Canada. In a big and busy
city!
We have
created a back yard hobby farm and
just wrapped up our first successful
honey season!! We have a chicken on
the counter occasionally, fresh
bread in the
oven, tea’s on and the door always
open!
May we all continue to meet these
children’s needs with the
resources and strategies available
to us, and most importantly overflow
their cup with love and
connectedness!

After
living more than a decade in
Guatemala as an
expat and entrepreneurs, I’ve seen
firsthand how
poverty affects families and
communities. I’ve also
seen how my friends at the Integral
Heart do life-changing work to break the cycles
that create
generational poverty. So whenever
I’m able, I do
what I can do that more kids can
grow up and
reach their dreams. |

Helping children in the world is an inner calling for me and Integral Heart Foundation striving to break the cycles of generation poverty solidified my lifetime involvement. As a
Pre-school teacher I understand that education is the key to having success of that goal. I am in constant awe of the dedication of the founders and teachers working to make sure the children of Guatemala have the education, nourishment and love they deserve. The actions of today for this generation will make big
impact changes for the future of Guatemala. I am proud to be a part of IHAT and helping with this important work of loving the Guatemala children and giving them the tools to be successful contributors to their communities. |
